Join local officials, planners, business and property owners, statewide leaders, and more at the Designation 2050 Design Summit. Hear Designation Program Evaluation findings and help design the future of these programs – and Vermont.

This fast-paced, interactive event will be held on Tuesday, September 12 at the Randolph Campus of Vermont State University. Join us for a morning of moving from Vision to Action. Hear the early program evaluation findings and draft vision and goals. Join Deep Dive discussions and help strategies for ensuring that the next round of Designation Programs become powerful tools for addressing key issues like climate resilience, housing access and affordability, equity and opportunity and more.

Stay for lunch and dig into an afternoon of Program Design & Reform. Hear case studies from other states and preliminary recommendations from the project team. Join more “deep dive” breakout sessions and roll up your sleeves to help prioritize ideas and design the next iteration of these powerful community revitalization programs.

Registration, Attendance & Cancellation

Registration is limited, and is first come, first served. Please register only if you plan to attend. If the event is sold out, join the wait list and watch for a ticket. If you realize that you cannot come, 

Travel & Parking

The Summit will be held in Judd Hall at Vermont State University - Randolph (formerly Vermont Technical College) in Randolph Center. Parking is in the main campus lot, near the soccer fields (main entrance). Follow the signs for parking and Judd Hall. More info and directions here.

Lunch & Refreshments

We will be providing breakfast scones, coffee & tea, cold drinks, and lunch to all attendees free. Kuya's at One Main in Randolph will provide salads and sandwiches for lunch, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options for those who requested. If you have more substantial dietary restrictions, please consider bringing food with you.

What to Bring & Wear

Dress is casual; bring a sweater or extra layer, since it can be cold in the building. We encourage attendees to bring a Wi-Fi-capable device (mobile phone, tablet, or laptop so that you can respond to live polls or look up resources throughout the day if you choose.

Mileage Reimbursements & Stipends

We can offer $50 stipends to those who are not paid to attend the event, and/or mileage reimbursement for those who need help with travel expenses. Please request reimbursement in the post-registration poll.
