What's working and what needs to change about Vermont's designation programs? What are the top ideas for reform and models worth exploring? On September 12, 150 statewide leaders from business, government, planning, nonprofits, and communities all over Vermont are coming together in Randolph Center to explore those questions at the live Designation 2050 Design Summit. If you can't make it or miss out on a spot, you can join us on Zoom for a virtual recap. Read the description of the original event below. This virtual event will include brief presentation overviews and a showcase of some of the big ideas that emerged from Summit "Deep Dive" breakout convesrations. Let us know what you think via chat and live polls.

You will also have the chance to watch full recordings of the live Summit presentations, thanks to ORCA media (release date TBD from ORCA) and see details of Deep Dive group ideas.

More About the Live Design Summit on September 12

The Designation 2050 Design Summit will allow leaders and stakeholders from around Vermont to spend a day exploring Designation Program Evaluation findings and starting to design the future of these programs – and Vermont. This fast-paced, interactive event will be held at the Randolph Campus of Vermont State University. The morning will focus on moving from Vision to Action, including sharing early program evaluation findings and draft vision and goals. Join Deep Dive discussions and help strategies for ensuring that the next round of Designation Programs become powerful tools for addressing key issues like climate resilience, housing access and affordability, equity and opportunity and more. Stay for lunch and dig into an afternoon of Program Design & Reform. Hear case studies from other states and preliminary recommendations from the project team. Join more “deep dive” breakout sessions and roll up your sleeves to help prioritize ideas and design the next iteration of these powerful community revitalization programs.

Do you need accomodations or assistance? Share your needs on the registration form. We will do our best to honor all requests made within two weeks of the event. Automatic captioning is available for all participants.
